The forgiving love of Christ conceals fascinating truth about us. It is not a coincident that our bible teaches us as a guide to follow Christ so we can be free of our sins and from our wickedness. Of course, people tend to acknowledge and confess that they are sinners, however to admit that they are wicked too is not something that they identify with easily. A person may ask, how am I wicked? What could wickedness mean in relation to me? Perhaps the moments, when we lose our cool in a heated argument and we are capable to hurt others with words or when we find joy in seeing other people fall. We are wicked, when we are cruel to others. When we hide and lie about our mistakes and on the top of it we accuse someone else with our own errors. I am wicked also, when I just too focused on my own problems and I am short to feel empathy for someone who struggles or instead of helping someone in need, I chose to make that person’s pain worst. You could probably add to this list and we could write pages about a person’s wickedness, but we could do the same about the wickedness of the world that tempt us day and night. Think about wars, illnesses, poverty or greed that drives politicians, bankers and businesses to exploit citizens, minorities, women and elderly. Our comfort to all wickedness is in a humble, gentle soul who is also powerful and victorious. Jesus Christ, the Son of God experienced our wickedness and fought all evil forces to hand down to us our freedom from the harsh state of wickedness. We all have the tools in our heart and through our faith to resist to these dark forces and shine in Christ glory.
Loving Lord, sweet Jesus. I thank you for your love and for your Word that makes me feel being loved, excited, liberated, healed and happy. I could be poor, sick or imprisoned , but your grace makes me rich, complete and joyfully free and for this gift I praise your Holy name. Amen.
Felmerülhet bennem a kérdés: gonosz vagyok én?
