Being a pastor presents the chance to me to visit different folks, and gives me a chance to see countless corners of people’s lives. Some of them are happy, some of them are sad. Many times I meet people who admit that they are poor and sometimes people are frustrated losing out on their inheritance from a dying loved one. When I hear such complaint, I always think about the Apostle Paul, when he was imprisoned in Caesarea and accused of many things falsely. Paul was in a situation, where most people would break, yet he not only defended himself, but took the opportunity to remind his accusers, the judges and the audience about the inheritance of God through Jesus Christ. This inheritance was, is and always will be more valuable than any treasure of the world. It is the promise and blessing of the covenant that God had made with Abraham and delivered to us through the precious blood of his only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. The inheritance is our salvation through faith. This is the most prized possession that one can have, that cannot be compared to any earthly reward. Most importantly, it cannot be lost and taken away from us if we remain true to God in Christ. Let us all be like Paul and share this good news in the name of the Holy One.
