From this well-known bible story, we know that Ruth was righteous to her mother-in-law, Naomi and did not give up on her, no matter how much bitterness was in Naomi’s heart towards God. Naomi felt that her life was wasted since she lost the most important people in her life, her husband and her two sons. Sometimes, we are the same as Naomi. Occasionally we broke down and there is nothing, but bitterness in our heart caused by grief, loneliness, the absence of love. Another cause of bitterness of the heart is losing the sense of security, which Naomi also had to feel by experiencing the disappearance of a family that she was a member of. We all need the sensation of knowing that we will be accounted for tomorrow, that we have a background support that makes us feel loved and valuable.
I like to watch wild animals on television as well as birds and other creatures around us. God has made them with perfect precision, with skins, furs or feathers that blends them into their environment to protect them from harm. The other day I have noticed little sparrows playing around our church building that gave them a sense of security as the color of their feathers perfectly blended them into our church’s red and brown colored brick walls. When it comes to us humans, God made them with the most complex camouflage that also provides them with security regardless of the amount of pain and suffering they endure. We are all equipped with the invisible shield of the Holy Spirit that through faith enfold us in love and keep us safe and secure with the Son of God, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Gracious God, the notion of strength can be measured by your mercy towards us. I pray for your power to surround us at all times by the security of your love to embrace all people who praise Your name and build your kingdom here on earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Néha mi is hasonlóan érzünk.
