Dear Friends,

It is a great honor to me to be the president of Church Women United this year and it is also a privilege to follow the footsteps of the ladies who led this group before me. I had the pleasure to meet many of you during last year’s conference, but let me say a few words about me. My name is Maria Jozsef, a resident of New City, in New York. I've been searching for a church to belong to for quite some time, before I discovered the Hungarian Reformed Church in Carteret three years ago. Since I uphold Christian values and servitude for those in need I knew right away that I found the ideal congregation. In the last few years since I became a member in the church in Carteret I was involved with various ministries of our little church.

Many times in the past the main idea of the conference was reflecting on the past, honoring women who came before us. Although our heritage and traditions are very important for me, I believe that in order to attract new members into our churches we need step out of our boundaries. We need to have a vision for new ministries that promotes spiritual and emotional growth with an emphasis on empowering women and to identify and embrace fully their God given talents. We also have to recognize the importance of women’s roles in the modern era and welcome all women to our church family even if they are different from us. Based on these thoughts the topic of this year’s conference will be about women's roles, duties and responsibilities in the 21th century in the shadow of the Christian church.

Please join this remarkable group of women this year, at the 56th annual Church Women United Conference on May 3rd 2015, in the Hungarian Reformed Church in Carteret .Let us discover together what it means to answer the call of God in this modern world as modern, Christian women.

Thank you and may our God bless you,

Ms. Maria Jozsef
